The programme consits of 4 days working at the firm. Throughout the four days we had the opportunity to move between three practices that were allocated to us. I believe that this not only helped us to develop our understanding of law in those areas, but also helped me to decide which area of law I would like to work in, in the future. We were assigned to different supervisors (trainee solicitors) every day and got a variety of different tasks including admin, extensive research and completing pre-set scenarios on the relevant areas of law.
I have developed how to work within a team envoriment as well as how to act in a professional manner.
I enjoy my experience greatly. I love being surrounded by people who I aspire to be. The team work is great and I could not emphasise enough how friendly and down to earth everyone is. The open office plan also helps as it does not impose a hierachy on the office and can feel welcoming.
Each member of the team makes you feel like your work is really appraiated and contributes greatly to their every day tasks. They recognise that not everyone will have the sufficient knowledge as of yet, however offer help at every point and are always avaliable. Some of the tasks I was involved in were used in a real life projects therefore I felt extremley valued.
The programme is very oganised. Everything was explained thoroughly during the induction. Support is always at hand if you need it and that was emphasised. We recieved a timetable at the start of the placment indicating the times, room and person we were expecting to have. This was kept to accordingly and added structure to the placement.
The support was extensive and thorough, making sure that everyone knew what they had been assigned to do and were not asked to do too much. The provider was always at hand via email along with individual allocated supervisors who are always at hand to help.
Provided us with lots of information through the packs that we were given at our induction.
The location of the compnay is very good as it it situated at the heart of Leeds and has easy acess to the train/bus station.
We have been infomed on the variety of opportunities that Pinsent Masons has on offer such as vacation schemes and gap year programmes that have both been very informative and motivational.
