My role is a trainee auditor in the Uk&I sector, I have to work and client offices to audit their financial statement and records, to ensure they represent a true and fair view of the companies financial position. This involves working in a team with fellow auditors of all ages, talking to the client on a regular basis. Also testing the client data is a large part of the job.
I have learnt many new skills whilst working at EY, Mainly working with excel I have enhanced my formula knowledge, Also my team working skills and confidence has grown when talking to client and other EY colleagues.
There are always up and down days, but the majority of the time I am enjoying the work I do and love learning new things everyday. Also the fact that we work with so many different, large clients is very fascinating.
EY regularly provide feedback on your work and treat you regularly to free work socials and events. also they hold a very good recognition scheme, which allows good worker to be rewarded accordinngly.
the programme lasts for 5 year, with regular promotions and pay rises along the way. all of the cohort will g to college to study together and will also attend most training courses together. So the programme is very well structured.
Kaplan is our training provided for our ACA qualification. They regularly set us work and tasks to perform online or whilst at college. They always contact us via email to ensure any questions we may have are answered quickly.
Each joiner is allocated a councillor and a buddy to help you through your transition into work. along with this there I always someone to talk to with regular peer group and family meetings for the whole office.
I am currently living from home so my salary covers my costs, although it could be a little higher. but it is a reasonable amount. All travels to clients is subsidised so this saves a lot of money.
there are always a lot of opportunities outside work to join different societies and sports teams at EY. Also charity and CSR days are also given to help you give back to the community.

Be confident and be yourself, practice the online tests before trying. Also research properly the service line you want to work in.
