Travelling to client sites around the UK (And sometimes outside of the UK). Auditing and inspecting the clients financial statements to ensure accurate recordings of assets and liabilities.
So many. Have gain the certificate of finance and business which took 6 exams. I have 9 exams remaining to become a qualified ACA chartered accountant. Multiple internal courses, some away with my colleagues which are great fun. Lot of personal development in terms of direct contact with Directors and Partners, similarly I have performed presentations.
The work can be a bit dull and you can end up working extra hours. But if your team is good and the client is then it can be very rewarding. 5 years is a bit long. I think the course should be shortened to 4 years.
Through feedback gained from jobs. £50 amazon vouchers raised when you've done something exceptional. Yearly pay increases. More responsibility.
Well organised in terms of career progression. Exam timetable could be sped up to 4years instead of 5 years. Get study leave for exams, have counselling meetings to discuss development.
Quality teaching for Kaplan. Books and resources very detailed. Email addresses of teachers to contact them with specific questions. Very much so want you to succeed. Everytime I pass an exam I feel very rewarded.
Study leave whilst at college learning. Days off when taking exams. Only issue is I have had to use my personal holiday to make up further days for revising.
Well in terms of still living at home, although paying parents monthly. The issue is that as you progress you will be coaching and teaching a graduate who joined after you but is paid more.
Yes. Secondments to different countries once qualified. Travelled round UK, stay away in posh hotels with expenses for food. Family socials which involve the office going bowling, paint balling etc. 2 days off a year to perform charity activities.
Yes
Very good opportunities for career progression. Yearly pay increases. Looks fantastic on your CV to say you've worked at a big 4. Get a qualification which overshadows a degree.
Every interview you attend remember to answer every question with an example, be it at work, school, sports, charity etc. It goes a long way. Also, be yourself, to work at EY you need lots of personality.
