I was an aerospace engineering apprentice at Atkins. I shadowed several graduates on their graduate programme and worked in teams on a variety of group projects using engineering skills I learned in my first two years of my degree.
I developed my applied maths skills as well as my leadership, group working, presentation skills and learned to communicate more effectively with supervisor
I really enjoyed the programme. It taught me loads of new and developed old skills, met people similar to me and helped mould my career path as I now have a better understanding of what I want to do
I felt like a really valued member of the team. I was involved in all group project meetings and my work helped make money for the company. They offered me a fast track place into their degree programme once I finish
It was quite well structured as I knew what I would be doing each week as it was all planned out for me. I got to do a variety of different things I've the year
Good amount of support, had people to talk to about stress and workload, was told about opportunities to get more eexpdirnecd and more similar work

Enough money to comfortably live and save in the area. Got placed in a house with other people on the internship programme got paid 18k for the year
Not loads to learn but lots to socialise with members of my team. Team building excercises post work drinks etc trip to go ape

Paid well, taught me a lot of tbings, good support network and lots of really nice people around to help you out if you ever get stuck or just need to talk to someone
Apply early. . . Placements fill up quickly and they're really good experience. . .
