1- Currently I work in Retail Change Management as part of my rotations. My day to day role consist on providing support to the team in the projects that they are working on. The activities can vary depending on the stage of the project, these could be compiling these information and arrange it in packs to be presented to the main stakeholders to request approval to move to the next phase; this could be testing, pilot or approval for the product to go live and be delivered to the customers. In addition, I am able to engage and communicate with the stakeholders involved in completing the project, for example Accounting, Fraud, IT, Marketing and contact centres. The aim of all the projects carried out in Change Management is to minimize the impact of new projects or changes on existing products and services on the customers.
Based on my previous and current rotation (Big Data and Retail Change Management, I have learnt database management skills and analytical skills when faced with complex problems related to extracting, making sense of data and reporting it to my manager. From my current rotation I am learning Project Management skills as well as improving my communication and organisation skills. additionally, in order to support my learning progress I have completed internal online courses such as Project Management, Database Management and SQL to support me on my day to day tasks.
I enjoy the programme because it allows me to put in practice what I learn from my modules as these are very relevant to the skills that we are planned to learn a part of our rotations.
I feel valued as I am given as much responsibilities as I needed. the company values the demonstration of good behaviour and provides a range of courses to support those that look for personal and professional development.
The programme is well structured as the lectures take place twice a week but not consecutively.Once a week we have a day dedicated to our studies. the modules are 2 per term. This along with the statement above makes it easier to manage the time to study and prepare the assignments and the time to complete the work tasks.
we have an apprentice manager from the university that helps us with any academic issue. the modules leaders and course tutor help us to go through our course and assessments. overall there is plenty of support available.
In the company each apprentice is assigned and apprentice manager, this person will be responsible for helping us to go in the right professional direction and will give us support when needed. the line manager is responsible for the skills we learn while working in that particular area. Any concern can be openly communicated and consequently will be addressed in order to help us in the learning journey.
It is competent. I get enough to support myself.
The company offers plenty CSR activities. I have taken part in Discovery projects to help the community and also I have supported others in the execution of this activities.
