My role in a nutshell is basically looking at phishing emails and analysing the malicious files so I can request the domain/IPs are blocked so no further attack can happen
I learned how to use the Ubuntu OS along with different bash commands. I also learned basic malware reverse engineering skills. I've developed my current knowledge on programming languages
I've enjoyed it in terms of learning and experience but not socially
Most of the time people go to my manager if they want something as I think that the title of apprentice has put the thought in peoples heads that I can't do the work or will get something wrong therefore I rarely get people coming to me asking for something
Not very well organised. They move everyone about in a way that doesn't make sense and they do it so often by the time you get used to where everyone is they change it again
Not much as he has too many apprentices to deal with and never replies to emails
The only time I really receive support is when I ask for it but when I do my manager makes sure that whatever I want happens
It just barely meets my essential costs and that's without the social costs added
There are lots of events advertised and promoted through various sources but most of the time they are irrelevant to what I do/ want
Yes
Very flexible employer
Make sure you chose the right program and department
