I work as a Business Continuity Analyst. I review teams business continuity plans and ensure that they're fully accurate and will ensure continuity within the bank.
I have certainly developed my people/communication skills. I speak to reps and business unit heads everyday and is increasing my confidence in doing so. I attended a Business Consultancy course, which was extremely beneficial.
I massively enjoy the programme. I feel that the team that I was placed in have helped me incredibly throughout my time here. They've been incredibly helpful for me. I would say that it's honestly exceeded my expectations. I feel that the technology challenge that we undertook was extremely beneficial in terms of working closely with fellow apprentices and graduates, but also talking to senior heads within the bank.
Massively. I regularly receive encouraging feedback from members within my team. My manager and I have weekly 1-2-1s and he's always looking to improve me. They level of training they offer is a godsend. Apprentices within RBS are seen as the future of the bank, so they're definitely looked after.
I think that it's incredibly organised. The events that are run, always go so smoothly and it's recognition of all of the hard work the guys put in. We're assigned with a buddy well in advance of starting, so we know who to speak to etc.
I receive constant support from my training provider. They are always available to reach my email/phone and never stop you from asking questions. They want us to succeed and will offer us the best help available.
As previously mentioned, I have weekly 1-2-1s with my line manager and he's always looking at how to develop me within my role. If I have any queries or grievances, he's on hand to answer always.
The salary package is incredible. I only wish I had joined earlier. The work that is undertaken, certainly matches the package, so I'm not working for free. It's not a far commute, so not spending massive amounts of travel.
The bank are always actively encouraging us to enroll on social charity events. There is a massive amount to choose from, as the bank caters for all requirements/needs.
Yes
This truly is a fantastic area to work with brilliant people. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner than what I did. I couldn't recommend it enough!!!
Do not be afraid to ask anything, as everyone is there to help you. The opportunities that you receive in attending apprentice events are brilliant.
