I take part in the analysis and validation of components and vehicles produced both by the company and by suppliers. I enjoy the problem solving i take part in on a day to day basis
I have greatlky improved my problem solving skills and geometry awareness.
I enjoy my day to day activities however don't enjoy working for such a large company
I feel i add value to the analysis and validation of the vehicles produced and improve the general quality of the product produced.
I know what level of qualification i will finish my apprenticeship with but have know idea what unit content i will recieve until i am actually doing it. As for the in work area of the program, placements in other departments are poorly structured, not followed up and often put on hold. one of the downsides of adding value to the business elsewhere
support is given when we ask for it however support isn't given to those who need it but don't know they need it
I am given time during work to work on college assignments but no other support.
I moved halfway across the country for the apprenticeship to one of the most expensive areas to live. I feel the salary is aimed to apprentices still living with their parents and with small outgoings. I struggle to make my pay cover the cost of living in the area where i work
There are some clubs for those working at the company but there is little time to participate in them.
No
I would recomend working for Rolls-Royce motors however would not recomend an apprenticeship in the business. The departmental structure changes rapidly. In the 3-4 years of an apprenticeship the initial planned role for the apprentice at the end of their apprenticeship is likely to have dissapreared or been taken up.
Take other apprenticeships into consideration. smaller companies have more to offer to someones development as an apprentice. experience gained can be much more valuable in smaller businesses to take forward into a role at a larger company.
