Engineering maintenance, first year training basic skills of mechnical and electrical engineering along side a level 3 btec qualitication. In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years doing various placements around the factory learning and developing new engineering skills by applying them to a real maintenance workplace situation.
Yes, I have developed my all round basic engineering skills and learnt a lot of theory based on what I'm doing practically
I enjoy the variety of different things to learn on the apprenticeship (teamwork, leadership, opportunities) and the challenge.
Very much, apprentices are highly valued and are seen as the future of the company
Very well, the training is to a very high standard, a high ammount of extra support is offered, the layout of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year is well structured
A high ammount in working hours as well as extra support outside of working hours. All tutors have good attitudes when teaching apprentices
A lot, many opportunities are offered, good benefits from the company, employers are approachable if there is an issue that needs to be addressed
In terms of apprentice wage, BMW pay very high

It offers a range of apprenticeships, good opportunities and develops workplace skills.
Prepare a lot of previous workpieces and skills that have been completed beforehand (e.g. at school, college/sixth form, uni etc.) and sell yourself in the interview. Make sure to stand out from the rest of applicants as it is a tough, competitive process.
