On a day to day basis i would complete tasks which include Mechanical processes, Electrical and electronics and Hand fitting techniques. The workshop works on a three way rotation between each section. There is also a responsability tpo complete a clean up where the responsability is given to three employees who need to lead the team.
Since joining BMW group i have learnt many new skills and have furthered my engineering knowledge through completing most of the first year. I have learnt many hands on skills as well as learning the theroy based knowledge on mondays in a classroom completing the BTEC.
The things i enjoy most about the programme include the friends that i hav emad eon the course and i believe this is shown in the way we work. For example when completing an overhaul on a piece of machinery, we work well and complete the task quickly and efficently.
I feel quite valued when working and walking around BMW as we are seen as the future of BMW and therefore it is importnat that we are looked after and valued.
I feel the programme is fairly structured as we have set days where we complete BTEC work and other days where we complete workshop, hands on type work. There is also a lot of support if you are struggling and time to catch up if you fall behind.
I feel i recieve a lot of support if needed from my training provider as there are many people you can see if you are struggling with a certain part of the BTEC or if you are falling behind with the workload.
I also feel that i recieve a lot of support from my employer as there is also many people who i feel comfortable talking to and also the fact that there are set monthly meetings which are there to talk about your progress.
I feel that the salary meets my costs very well as we have 6 month pay revied which allow me to progress up the financal ladder and allow myself to earn more money.
There are many oppertunities outside of work including events where you are representing the BMW group. This is good as it allows you to feedback the pros of working for such company. There is also many benefits and discounts which can be used outside of work which allow you to have some free time.
Yes
It is a good place to work and allwos you to meet new people while increasing my knowledge on engineering techniques. Also i enjoy coming to work whilst also earning money at the same time and therefore i dont se why anyone wouldnt want to do this job. There are also ma ny oppertunities once you have finished the apprenticeship and therefore it is a good place to work.
Be confident and show all the knowledge you have. But mainly i would show the desire you have for the job as if you are applying and know it is the correct job for you then there is no reason to be shy or not talkative. Express yourself if the best way possible.
