IT apprentice Managing suppliers, managing incident tickets, managing applications for running the plant. Interact with the various teams and business representatives within the company. Every day I have to ensure our monitoring systems are green for the applications I am responsible.
ITIL foundation v3 BSc in Computer Science
Lots of work to be done, varying in difficulty and content from day to day. Company culture was very friendly.
From the training department, felt very appreciated. Was however an apprentice and was treated as such in placements, even when I was comfotable in my role and knew what I was doing day to day.
Set placements, well organised. University organised from day one and bi-weekly feedback meetings organised.
Support was better from Oxford Brookes Uni in the first 2 years, the final year support was not quite there.
Can always ask questions and speak to appropriate people when I have issues.
All business expenses refunded quickly. Competitive salary
Yearly outings and activites but nothing regular enough. Occasional nights out with the placement office. Only 1 get together for all apprentices
Yes
Excellent working and training environment.
Even if you dont feel you are qualified but have an interest apply anyway, the whole point of the apprenticeship is the learn and as long as you have the right mindset you would get on fine.
