I attend meetings to manage the plans for certain areas of the building project I am currently working on. I attend meetings, take notes and have the plans ammended, before chasing up any actions neccessary. I am putting together a process map for a sections of pipe that will be manufactured, which involves running meetings and managing databases.
Over the last year I have learned how to use many different IT tools such as SAP, teamcenter, BI, ECR database, SPICE, windchill, PTI database to name just a few. I have improved my time management by making sure I understand my limits and if I am too busy being able to say it's not something I can help with at the minute but I could do it in a days time, for example.
I enjoy getting to meet lots of new people and having lots of different opportunities both inside and outsaide of work. I am currently working with senior managers internally and as part of my stretch work I have been representing BAE at job center support saessions externally.
I feel as though I am valued as the work I have been doing has again involved senior managers and Boat leaders. I had my own areas of responsibility that I managed by setting up meetings, managing spreadsheets and paperwork and chasing and acting on any actions. In addition to thios I was asked by my last placement to stay in that team longer as they had work they needed me to run with.
The BAE structure is good as we have a good support network of managers to help us get the most out of the scheme. However I feel the college's managment of the HA competencies has been very poor as they are very behind in assessing the practical work we have done. Our function managers at BAE are trying to address this but it's an ongoing issue.
The college we attend is generally okay and it has been improving in that the lectures and tasks have been more assignment specific. That has been very useful as it allows us to use similar case studies to practice for our assignments.
I receive a lot of support from BAE, from my line manager imparticular, who has helped me massively with any issues or support I needed. She has given me guidance and help when needed, which has helped me learn different skills and progress through the scheme better.
I have so far been happy with my salary and it has met my costs as well as allowed me to save for a house. The annual pay increaces are great as it allows you to work your way up to a much greater salary increase over the 3 years. Now I am looking for a house I'll have less money after covering my expences but I am happy it won't be an issue.
There are oppoprtunities in the local area to get involved in activities and BAE run a few annual events which are usually very well attended. However I would like to see BAE run more social events, in addition to the charity challenges and stretch assignments they already run.

BAE is a great place to earn whilst you learn and the on the job work experience is vital to training and developement. There are many benifits that come with being an employee such as the share scheme and your offers scheme which gives you discounts in selected places. Everyone is very supportive and it's a great opportunity to develope skills and earn qualificationin many very interesting roles.
I think it's important to be able to talk about hobbies and the skills learnt from those hopbbies, then link it back to how you think those skills would help you in BAE. I think it's important to research as much as you can about the business and the product (which I appreciate is difficult do to security classifications) but they need to see you have made and effort to do so.
