  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i do a BTEC and a NVQ during the week in the first year of the apprenticeship. it involves going round and learning a range of skills in engineering. there are lots of responsibilities and it increases your communication skills.

  • i have learnt lots of engineering skills and have developed the ones that i had already had. i also gain a btec in the process and a degree starts next year so i have and will learn lots threre as well.

  • i very much enjoy the programme

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BMW Group?
  • as an apprentice very valued but on a bigger scale of the whole company much less at the moment but expect it to change as i go around plant starting next year.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the training is of a high quality and the support is there if you ask for it. the plan is layed out ahead for you too see and there are meetings weekly to ask whats going on.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • lots of support. all of the training providers are happy to help and are very knowledgable. there is the correct balence between letting you do what you want (assignments) and guidence to do what you need.

  • the managers are always avalible to talk to and are always able to help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • the salary package is very good and more than covers the costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • there are events that you can go to but are generally reserved for the older years that have more experiance to talk about the apprentship.

  • Yes

  • due to it being a very good and well paid apprentship that gives you lots of qualifications and a good job oppertunity as well as good pay.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • make sure that you are ready for lots of time and dedication being put towards the apprentship
