my role at the company is a mechanical maintenance technician apprentice, currently studying a year at college doing both practical and theory work.
I have been able to develop my existing skills in practical work such as lathe and bench fitting which has lead to much improved quality of work. Also I have learn a lot from the theory lesson in the B-tec qualifications especially in the maths and maintenance subjects
I have so far enjoy a lot of my programme from the team I work with to the work I have been doing, all aspects of the programme have been a good experience and I feel I have come a long way because of the programme so I have enjoyed everything overall.
the company make us all feel appreciated as our ideas are heard and taken in to consideration and we are always welcome to talk to ours bosses if needed for anything work or home related. I personally feel valued as I have been working as a course ambassador role and I have seen all our teams ideas and comments taken seriously by the college and company
our programme overall has been well organised but it has faced a few planning issues mainly due to the college trying to organise time tables and tutors. The company, however have been very well structured and organised with meetings and events with us
Our training provider at college is very supportive throughout the year as we have been faced with issues regarding to specific paper work required from us the trainers have all been there to clear things up and help us complete the necessary work.
The employer provides us withal the support we could need regarding both work and any personal issues we may have and there is no problem with enquiries and their attitudes towards us are all positive
the salary I am receiving is providing well for my living costs and is enough to live comfortably with a social life while still at home with my parents and the pay rises fit in well with increased costs as I progress through the programme
BMW do provide a good selection of out of work activities at various dealerships and sporting events such as the moto GP where we can go and see the latest models and find out more about the company. Also the company has organised for us to go to team building weeks in good locations
Yes
The programme has provided me with many skills and opportunities to a great career path and it is a very stable and well paid job with a great company and good people
All and interviews and assessment days were very friendly and honest ways of assessing potential candidates so its best to be relaxed and honest with every one you meet and apply yourself as best you can to the tests and activities
