Our role requires us to learn. In our residential stint we would learn the basics and then when we get to depot we do work more specific to our speciality.
Yes, i have learnt and developed a number of skills. i've learnt what it's like to work on the railway and specific tests which need to be carried out
The programme is very enjoyable. It is a constant learning curve. Also, it is easily possible to meet a lot of extraordinary people who are willing to help
Network rail makes one feel very valued. They make us aware that we are the future and do everything in their power to help us.
A new type of programme so structure was varied. At times it had a clear structure, however at other points the programme had to be changed to meet our requirements.
The training provider ensures we are receive information adequate support. They check up on the apprentices frequently to make sure that's everything is going well.
The employer also provides a lot of support. They make us aware of what opportunities are available to us, as well as ensuring we are well looked after and learning.
The salary for me does the job. As i am still living at home i do not have a lot of expenses and what expenses i do have are covered by the london allowance. however. It could be more to support other apprentices.

Network rail is a very good company to work for. There are many opportunities internally as well as externally. Network rail tries to ensure that we are aware of all the opportunities available to us
Try your hardest to be accepted. It is a great company to work for. Network rail is great as they provide a career for life. Furthermore if one wants to move around within the company this can be easily done and can be facilitied by the company quite simply.
