Simple. You get up, put your uniform on and leave. Free tube travel gets you into work and sitting with the driver is a good start to your day. Getting to either College or the Traing centre is where you'll once again meet your friends, no, more like family. I know, if I was told this a year ago that I'll have friends I'll sacrifice myself for, I would have thought you were joking. The activities day to day are fine, just as fun as school but you get paid for it so it's to too bad. Days can be from 9-5 or 8-4 with breaks in between. Sorry this post is long but it really is this good. That's probably also why it's in high demand. There will be many applicants. It it makes sense when you think of the population density of London. Its simple maths. But even though there may be many and you are only one, show them who's really got the skills to use the drills, or how your gains will drive those trains. Stand out, be brave, think like others cannot and show them. (The interviewer) why you are the best for the job
I've learnt A level equivalent maths, how material behave in different environments and how to understand and build electronic circuits. In practical work I've taken apart a compressor, maintained it and put it back together and tested it worked. Same with a brake cylinder. I've done soldering and welding is to come next :) . I've also learnt how to socialise with new people and become good friends with the other apprentices, even those who are not apart of my group.
100%. Seriously. I'm the type who doesn't want to go home, not because I don't like home but because it's just so fun. Yes I may seem odd.
Somewhat apart from your sections you are in you don't halve too much contact with other departments. But I am just learning at the moment so it'll change once I'm on placements.
Very good. Few weeks here few weeks there, alternating so you don't get bored. Your support managers deal with your issues and you also have a college tutor to go to.
As much as you need.
As much as you need.
Enough to help my parents, pay for bills, save and eat from marks and Spencer's.
Voulenteering which could be part of the job so you get paid. Going to careeer events and talking about the job.
Yes
Not a hard job, great pay, great benefits and facilities and trains are all so cool.
