On a daily basis i am out on site with the client completing audit work, this gives me great experience getting to work closely with financial controllers and direcotors of large companies.
Learnt lots of things whilst training for the exams as they are closely linked with the work which I do. Internal training has covered the software programmes and a 2 week introduction at the start of the apprenticeship was a good way to get up to speed. I've learnt how to manage my time more effectively and my commercial awareness has improved greatly.
The company culture over busy season was a bit too time pressured as we were short of staff meaning lots of overtime was being worked. This meant people were getting frustrated which was noticed by the newer members of staff. In general i enjoy work.
I feel valued at work because of the responsibilities that i get given and know that the work I am doing is important.
The induction and training at the start of the programme was very good and we have meetings with the assesor approximately every 6 weeks. We always know what tasks we need to complete and when the deadline is. The appraisal system at works makes it easy to obtain feedback from colleagues so you can develop further.
The assesors are very good. Although they are always on your back chasing work they ensure that you stay on track and get things done on time. The online classrooms are very good and helpful and I also found it easy to contact a tutor if needed.
The salary covers my travelling costs and day to day spending but I would struggle to move closer to work by moving into the city.
When work is not so busy there are social events for the staff. As there are a lot of colleagues of a similar age we wuite often go out on the evenings.
