Operations Assistant My main job role was to process a consistent supply of delivery, including replen as well as new flow into the store. I had to be in constant contact with both the floor sales manager to ensure that the product reaches the sales floor, having been processed correctly and suits the needs of the shop floor. I also had the opportunity for regular customer contact and assisting them where possible, this gave me an insight into providing an excellent customer service as well as building my confidence and ability to deal with a variety of situations.
I have developed my customer service as well as my own personality through the course, this has allowed me to make new friends, as well as build relationships with customers. I am confident at undertaking challenging tasks and testing my strengths and weaknesses as a character as a member of a large team.
Everyday brought new opportunities for me, I was able to meet new friends as well as build new relationships with both the staff and customers. This allowed me to have a social life at work as well as in my own time. I was really please about the direction of the company, the values they stand for and the way in which staff were treated. I really enjoyed coming to work everyday, and I looked forward to the next shift.
Very valued. They offered a generous discount scheme, as well as offering their staff multiple discount cards for family members/friends to use on their behalf. The pay grade is excellent also. I was consistently recognised by management for my hard work as well as completing tasks to an outstanding standard. I was always involved with tasks, and given many opportunities to progress in my role.
It was well structured, the management gave me my key goals of the day to me at the start of each shift so that I was well informed of the expectations of the role. I was also offered how I can progress quickly in the course, suggestions of undertaking tasks as well as being exposed to multiple facilities to help complete work efficiently.
I was buddied up with a senior member of staff who took me through the basics of the role, this helped provide tips as well as undertaking my role as efficiently and quickly as possible. I really enjoyed having a detailed insight into the company and the job role, it was interesting to learn the responsibilities of the job as well as the milestones the company had reached along their recent progression.
I recieved a great deal of support, including a buddy which provided me with the initial training and insight into the role. I was also offered refreshers at the start of shifts to help me complete tasks quickly and how to follow procedures also. I had a clear line of help if I needed it, managers were always available to help me with any issues I had.
The salary was very generous, and was above what I was expecting from the role (and from previous jobs). Travel costs were low as I did not have to travel far as my local M&S is only down the road. The location of my placement was ideal for my situation.
Yes. There are many company events including fundraisers, events to help promote community work as well as company gatherings to support and praise staff. The shifts were not too long or too short, so I could still relax and do hobbies in my own time.
Yes
There is a clear structure of progression, the management are really helpful and offer much guidance in your role. The salary is generous and the discount scheme is very beneficial to both myself and for my family. The team is excellent also, I made so many friends and met so many different customers from a variety of background.
Have confidence, and be up for a challenge! There are so many ways to progress with in the company, so make sure you take advantage of these opportunities when they are available. Be yourself, try your best and work hard!
