  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • I feel valued as I have only been in the company for less than a year but already I am seeing many opportunities open for me and I believe I will have many to come.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised to an extent, however I believe things could be changed to make the overall scheme of things run smoothly. for example things can change at the last minute without instructors or employees being informed and this can frustrate both the employee and the lecturer. I think things need to be planned and prepared better in order to make these changes happen.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I believe again there is a good amount of support from my employer, be it with problems we have with the work or just general problems like payroll, holidays etc.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary compared to other apprenticeships is great, it was a pay decrease for me but with the coming years to come the more I learn the more I will be paid as each year our salary increases. Personally to start I feel it isn't the best salary to be on but in the grand scheme of it all I will reap what I sew.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There isn't a great deal outside of work unless you put yourself in those positions and push to make things happen, i.e. you can get involved in charity events which would happen outside of work. Most things I take part in tend to be in company time but I don't see this as a big problem.

  • 9. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • You would be entering a stable respected career which is appreciated globally and you have the opportunity to learn a skilled trade whilst being paid for this. anywhere else you would tend to have to pay for this yourself. The company look after their employees and providing you work hard and apply yourself you can make a great career and name of yourself.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Do not stress to much, it sounds more daunting than it is, everyone is here to help you and they want you to become part of the business, apply yourself and thrive to do the best you can. Always look to learn more and show you are keen to work and be the best, this will show the instructors you are a hard worker and they will help you get the opportunities you want and need to further your career with BAE.
