My daily tasks include completing practical and classroom tasks that will help me gather an understanding of how a mechanic functions
I have learnt many new skills which include operating machines, learning about different calculations and going into depths on the different types of material a mechanic will use on a day to day basis.
I rate the programme very highly, the opportunity to learn a trade as interesting as this one was a major factor in me coming to BAE. All staff and colleagues are friendly and supportive. I believe I work In a very professional workplace that can further my development as an engineer
I feel well appreciated by the company. They care for all my needs and always remind me that support is there for me if necessary. BAE always tell us we are the future of the company
The programme is organised to a reasonable standard, however there have been several times where the programme has been changed at the last minute so there hasn't been much work for us on some days compared to others.
Our training provider supports us reasonably, when we are behind on work they ensure us there will always be time to complete this work. They are friendly and are happy to answer any questions when I have any
My employer is very approachable and professional to talk to. My manager is always there when I am in need of support which makes me feel very welcome here. They make it clear that we are the future of the company. I will always be grateful towards the manager for giving me this opportunity in the first place.
The salary I receive is very good, it allows me to pay for rent at my house, maintain my car and ensure I live a good standard of life.
Whilst I haven't completed all of the out of work activities, there have been many events taking place. There have been school visits, team building trips and opportunities to speak to people within the business. All the activities I have taken part in have been beneficial to me.
Yes
If the company were to treat a friend of mine in the same way they have treated me then I would definitely recommend the programme to them
I would advise anyone applying to remain calm and professional at all times. Make sure you come to the interview with a wealth of knowledge about the job and the company you are applying for. Look confident, dress well and be friendly to others that are in the same position as you.
