Project management office - supporting engagement managers in planning, risk analysis, finances and change control amongst other tasks. Working on client site following both client processes and internal processes to ensure a project is running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Yes - gained a diploma with QA in IT from the first two years. Also attended or scheduled to attend many internal training courses that promote and teach how a project should be run successfully within Capgemini. Also attended external technical training courses. Developed lots of personal skills since joining straight from a level, communication is key and my confidence has grown.
I enjoy my day to day role very much, I have been lucky to be placed in a role that I enjoy doing and I have made decisions that have allowed me to continue in my role and move to a community that supports my role. The first two years consisted of QA work along side the working day which was manageable, since starting the degree it is harder to find the time that it needs as it is more intense and requires more however I am on track so far and pleased with my progress to date.
Yes I do feel very valued by Capgemini, I believe that Capgemini believe we are the future of the company and therefore want to invest in us as much as possible. I have been doing the same role for quite a while now so I feel very valued in my role as I have built up a good foundation knowledge.
The program has changed multiple times since I started, with new joiners following slightly different paths. The induction was well organized at the beginning but as time has progressed multiple people have take over the role. When time is spent on campus, which is only 4 times a year, time is wasted in un locking rooms and the general logistics of the way could be improved to get more from it.
Yes there is lots of support, with weekly tutorial and we can always contact them via email and set up office hours if required. More communication could help keep people on track with the course schedule.
Support is received is required, the employer is aware of the commitment to the study and this is taken into account. Also if there is a problem with exams dates or on campus dates or results Capgemini will work with us to resolve the problem.
Currently my salary meets my costs well, but there is always room for improvement.
Yes there are lots of social and networking events, from business units to client socials to women networking events.
Yes
Excellent company to work for, allows you to drive your own progression with lots of support in place. The chance to earn a good wage and work at the same time is fantastic.
Personality is also key, act confident and personable as this as well as being academic is a very important mix in the line of work.
