The role that i am currently in provides me with many opportunities such as developing new standard operating procedures for project teams to implement to sustaining the project portfolios, my role certainly stretches me and tests me in ways that previous jobs have not.
I have developed my Excel skills greatly since being in this role as it is a big part of keeping documents up to date and tracking the progress of projects on a weekly basis. There is also a great development plan for apprentices within Boots as well as providing great training internally to all staff members via Boots Learning.
I enjoy the current work aspect of my programme lots as it provides me with lots of new situations to deal with and tests me at a high level, alongside the work element there is some study work that needs to be completed which is good, but i much prefer the working element.
I feel valued by Boots as an employee as they have a great HR department that ensures that Boots employees are being treated fairly and respectfully, also the team that i work with are great at listening to my concerns and questions so it makes it much easier to speak to someone.
The programme is well structure and gives apprentices the opportunity to learn whilst on the job, there are several planned away days throughout the course which contribute towards your development.
I receive some support from my training provider however there is some discussion as to how helpful this is as the work being completed is very simple however the support provided sometimes contradicts the work.
I receive lots of support from my employer especially my line manager as this helps to ensure that any issues i am facing can be resolved, there is always someone that i can speak to about any issues i have and they are usually resolved very fast.
The salary for the Boots apprenticeship is very generous and helps towards me being able to get to work and enjoying my weekends refuelling ready for my return to work.
There are many opportunities within the Boots apprenticeship you just have to keep an eye out for them when they come into your inbox, things such as School visits and assisting with charity days are always on the cards.
Yes
Because it is a very good employer that values the employees that work for it, with a generous wage and lots of room for development.
Just make sure that you promote yourself in the most effective way possible and make sure that you believe in your ability to succeed and you will.
