  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a trainee pharmacy advisor. My role includes giving advice and drug information on the healthcare counter, retail jobs, as well as labelling, dispensing and handing out prescriptions.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My confidence skills have come a long way and I feel I can adapt my language to suit the needs of the general public.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do really enjoy my apprenticeship as every day is different and I complete a variety of roles. My colleagues are great, they are so kind and patient which allows me to learn new things every day.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • I certainly feel valued by the people around me. My line manager praises me when I have done something which is impressive and this makes me feel a truely valued member of the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is fairly well organised. When I started, there was several pieces of information in regards to the coursework, structure and qualifications I will gain given to me to read over.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I am lucky that I receive lots of help and support from my colleagues, including my line manager. My assessor (the person who marks my work) is never far away either and is always there to support me in day to day queries and the coursework side of the programme.

  • I receive a good deal of support from my employer, I can't fault this at all.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Fairly well, the money for an apprentice is quite good.

  • Yes there is some but limited in the part of the country in which I live.

  • 9. Would you recommend Boots to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a good training provider as they have given me the opportunity to train up to be a pharmacy advisor, including the Boots qualification. The people I work with are great and if I ever have any problems, everyone is happy to help me.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
  • Working hard pays off!
