I'm a trainee pharmacy advisor. My role includes giving advice and drug information on the healthcare counter, retail jobs, as well as labelling, dispensing and handing out prescriptions.
My confidence skills have come a long way and I feel I can adapt my language to suit the needs of the general public.
I do really enjoy my apprenticeship as every day is different and I complete a variety of roles. My colleagues are great, they are so kind and patient which allows me to learn new things every day.
I certainly feel valued by the people around me. My line manager praises me when I have done something which is impressive and this makes me feel a truely valued member of the team.
My programme is fairly well organised. When I started, there was several pieces of information in regards to the coursework, structure and qualifications I will gain given to me to read over.
I am lucky that I receive lots of help and support from my colleagues, including my line manager. My assessor (the person who marks my work) is never far away either and is always there to support me in day to day queries and the coursework side of the programme.
I receive a good deal of support from my employer, I can't fault this at all.
Fairly well, the money for an apprentice is quite good.
Yes there is some but limited in the part of the country in which I live.
Yes
It's a good training provider as they have given me the opportunity to train up to be a pharmacy advisor, including the Boots qualification. The people I work with are great and if I ever have any problems, everyone is happy to help me.
Working hard pays off!
