I was a Scholar as part of the Advisory Scholarship Programme at EY. I was put in a team and assisted them with the current project throughout my 4 week internship. I organised and sat in meetings, created decks for the senior managers to present to clients, and researched relevant data for my project.
I have certainly learnt how to conduct myself in a professional environment. My formal email writing skills have improved. I have learnt a lot about the Banking sector, as this was the focus of my team's project, as well as the general role of the Advisory sector at EY. On top of this, I completed a Web Safety training course.
Absolutely loved it. Team was friendly - if somewhat demanding, but this was great experience for me. Culture is very friendly and i thoroughly enjoyed my time
Surpisingly so for an intern! Especially by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] Was great to be given responsibilities however i was lucky in that i had an older SUmmer intern in the same team who could offer a helping hand - not sure how i will cope this summer without her!!
Really well. The induction process was probably too long. the Training was minimal which was great as we got to learn on the job. Team heirarchy was also great for me but i think i got lucky with my team!
Katherine was always there if we needed anything, as were our buddys and team coordinators. Really well organised from this respect
They were very busy but still managed to find time to sit down with me and discuss how i was doing. for the smaller 'stupid' problems and questions, there did not really tend to be anyone to ask, but i imagine this is always the case and it encourages us to learn for ourselves.
it was perfect last year because EY kindly provided accommodation for us. However i must admit, this year we are expected to find accommodation for ourselves which has not been easy. the result is that over half of my salary will be on accommodation and transport, which is far from ideal. i could have done with some guidance at the very least in terms of recommendations for accommodation, as i had to do it by myself on top of university exams.
Not that i heard about. there were talks but i was always busy with my team. however my team did take us out for lunch one afternoon which was lovely to get to know them.
Yes
so friendly and welcoming. a really well-structured scheme. interesting work. fantastic place to learn
take advantage of the first few weeks to ask any questions! be yourself in the assessment and interview but also think about what skills they are looking for, and match your past experience to this. work backwards in this respect!
