I am a 360 apprentice which consists of being part of a team of my choice and getting involved in my departments work. I am currently in audit and I have worked on different auditing procedures and have had chance to manage different team members and interact with clients
I am completing an AAT qualification in which I am hoping to move into an ACA I have completed a audit training course and attend "forums" on a quarterly basis in order to understand key developments in the business. I have been able to improve my softer skills such as communication and presenting thanks to the opportunities available. I have been able to improve technical knowledge in programmes such as Excel and gain competency on internal systems held at KPMG
Enjoy the programme thoroughly and feel that there is a positive culture. The management team like to find solutions to any issues we have and are very helpful. KPMG has exceeded expectations, however the only issue I have found is communication in terms of placements, but this is understandable due to the complexity of the programme
I feel like I am valued for the work I complete and have had very positive performance reviews. We are given feedback on how well we do
I understand that the programme is 6 years long and know the programme in high level terms, however I am struggling to understand what qualifications are open to me in the future. Support is very good and training is clear.
BPP are very helpful and we even have our own mailbox to which we can email queries. We are given a range of resources both electronic and paper versions in order to cement our learning
I feel as though I receive sufficient support as we have support from a range of managers and have different societies at work to help support us on a daily basis.
My salarymore than effectively meets my costs. Largely expenses are covered by the firm if this is outside of a daily commute which helps ease the burden. I live at home which is why I find the salary affordable however I would not be able to live on my own with the salary offered
Yes, volunteering is promoted at KPMG and we are given four days of volunteer leave separate to that of our annual leave. There are a range of clubs we can join in order to meet new people and we hold networking events in order to help open new opportunities.
Yes
Brilliant culture, supporting work force, the fact that you feel valued, no university debt and gaining experience in one of the biggest accounting firms should be enough of an incentive
Make sure you read about the firm and understand the competencies. There is a online application form to complete, this is followed by a interview in which you record yourself answering questions, after this there is an assessment centre
