Currently, my role involves working in Audit and performing Audit testing as part of Audit's of company in the Yorkshire region. However, as part of the programme, the apprentices move to different departments across the firm, so next month i'll be starting a placement in the pensions department for 5/6 months.
I believe I have developed and improved my confidence and ability to talk to the clients in the 6/7 months I've been working at KPMG, as I now do it on a daily basis. I have also developed my computer skills, especially Excel, as we do all our work and testing using Excel. We have also been on training courses to improve our understanding of key internal components for which we document all our audit work and testing.
I believe I am enjoying my apprenticeship as I have been able to develop my skills and learn new ones. The work can be difficult to comprehend sometimes and sometimes working hours can be long in Audit in order to cover all the work necessary. The audit team are helpful to those just starting and helped me understand potentially difficult tasks. I didn't know what to expect going in, so I guess it is different to what I was expecting in Audit.
I believe I do feel valued by KPMG. Constantly have work and appreciation for work is proof of that.
I believe it could be improved. Our resourcing team I think could do with some extra people to make it easier. I also believe that getting placements is a struggle because departments can't find room for new apprenctices in their teams
There is plenty of support from our provider BPP. We can talk to them at pretty much anytime and have material available. However, I do think there could be more.
We receive relatively good support. However, to improve this, we could have maybe some study days before exams, rather than having to work, then revise at home.
Currently. My Salary is sufficient and meets my costs.
KPMG offers plenty of opportunities inside and outside of work

Be yourself. KPMG like fun, kind people in my experience.
