My role varies a lot a day to day basis seeing as I rotate around different departments from time to time. At the moment I'm doing an audit placement and have been involved in tasks such as interviewing clients to obtain information, carrying out tests on cash, income and expenditure .
At the moment I have completed and gained an AAT level 3 qualification. I am currently studying towards having an AAT level 4 qualification. Outside of this I have learnt how to use a lot of unfamiliar tools such as confluence (management consulting tool) and advanced functions in excel.
I enjoy that we get to move to different departments in the programme. I have also found the people at KPMG to be very friendly and supportive when it comes to seeking advice and asking questions.
I feel that in most of my placements I have been valued by team members as they often show appreciation when I complete my work. Occasionally I can sometimes feel slightly undervalued if I'm given admin work to do for a long period of time.
I don't think the programme is very well organised as it keeps changing constantly. We are often told about things last minute and changes are made with consulting us about them first.
I am offered a lot of support as I have a bpp tutor who is always available to speak to if I get in touch with them. There is also an online forum which we can access to search for questions we might have that people have already provided answers for.
I am offered a lot of support from my performance manager and I'm also able to reach out to other members of the management team if necessary. I also have been assigned a buddy which I can reach out to whenever I want.
I think we are paid well compared to other apprenticeships available in the country. However London is very expensive to live in and I feel like we could get paid better considering we do the same work if not more work than graduates that are the same grade as us
Yes , there are a lot of networking and socials that are constantly running throughout the year across all different departments.
Yes
KPMG has a very friendly work environment and there are just some many different departments and opportunities to explore.
Make sure that you appear confident during the interview stages and believe in what you are saying.
