I am an Apprentice placed on the KPMG360 programme. The programme covers the rotation of all three finance sectors, Audit, Tax and Advisor. One a day to day basis, I support the businesses need when I am placed in that finance department.
Yes I am learnt new skills while on the Apprenticeship. I have advanced in my Excel skills together with the use of other computer based skills. I have also developed key skills when interacting with people such as being confident and actually doing some research before I interact with an important person.
If I were to rate the programme out of 10, I'd give it an 11. I enjoy the programme a lot as it is helping me progress my career and the support given is just amazing.
I feel very Valued at KPMG. KPMG have there own set of values which I feel, each staff member at KPMG deeply value and hold. I get recognised for the work that I do even though I may be the most junior member in the team.
The programme is very organised and structured. From the very first day, you are given a walkthrough of the programme. This starts at the application process. I will spend 1 year rotating between the three sectors and studying my AAT Level 3 exams. I will then spend a further 2 years rotating between each sector and study towards my AAT Level 4 exams. I will then specialise in a particular area for a further 3 years whilst sitting my professional exams and becoming professionally qualified.
I receive a lot of support from the training provider. The training provider used is BPP. When an exam is getting close by, online resources and speaking to a coach are readily available to help all Apprentices pass.
I receive all the support from my employer. Not to be bias but I would say the KPMG offer the best support out of all of the Top 4 competitors since my time at KPMG. They value each member of staff and being such a junior member of the team, I feel my employer cares about my progression.
My salary package meets my cost fairly good. As I have a fixed salary and KPMG offer first year apprentices capped hours of 35 hours a week, my hourly rate exceeds the minimum wage by a lot. I am very happy with the salary package.
Yes, there are many opportunities. One that comes to mind is the chance to visit your old school and promote the programme.
Yes
Because, it will be a very good stepping stone for anyone who wants to advance in the Professional Services Sector. You are valued and feel valued when working here at KPMG.
I would say to just be yourself and just be open. Also ask lots of questions as there are many people here at KPMG that can answer your question. No question is a silly question.
