I am an apprentice based in Tax. No two days are the same for me, because I spend my time assisting senior team members with their work. I have been able to gain a vast amount of experience by getting involved in different tasks. I also assist other team members, that are of my level, with their work. My work is mainly involved with compliance advisory work. After completing the recent tax year returns, I am now involved with preparing for our next tax returns busy season. I am also assisting with shorter advisory engagements. I have also spent time work shadowing seniors to client meetings, and got involved with business development work.
I have been able to build up on my communication skills, as this is a vital area of the department I am currently in. I work with different team members, and smaller teams to complete work, so I've had the chance to develop on this skill. Furthermore, I have also been able to develop team member skills. I am also now more confident with using excel, due to the day to day task I am involved with. I have also completed the level 3 AAT qualification, and I have able to use my knowledge to practice, because I have been involved in creating accounts for our clients.
I enjoy being able to network with different people, and work with different teams. This has ensured that I've gained maximum experience during my time at KPMG.
I feel highly valued at KPMG. I know the contributions I make with my work goes a long way.
I am in the first year of intake for the programme I'm on. This means that I have first experience of this programme. I feel like I am in safe hands, and I believe the structure of the programme is what has contributed towards my vast amount of experience at KPMG.
I feel like I am highly supported, and taught well.
I receive daily support from KPMG. I have an assigned buddy and line manager to support me throughout my placements. I also have a performance manager that supports me with the programme, and helps me in planning my career and long term goals.
I am able to cover my travel costs, and social costs really well, and I am able to save.
I've had opportunities to attend external networking events, which has shown me that I have a range of opportunities outside of KPMG.
Yes
I've been supported really well throughout the programme, and I have been able to gain so much experience.
I think everyone who applies to KPMG should be confident in being themselves. They should show their interests and aspirations throughout the process, and not try to be someone else. KPMG empowers diversity, and we want individuals that are willing to learn.
