As a apprentice currently in the audit department my role varies from audit testing on cash, debtors, payroll etc to more admin based tasks such as checking financial accounts for casting and setting up work papers for testing.
I have developed my communication skills in terms of socially during networking and also professionally. I have also really improved on my technical skills, such as excel skills.
I enjoy the aspect of on the job learning and networking with various individuals.
I feel valued if I feel like work I am doing is actually adding something towards an end goal.
I think organisation lacks when it comes to headcount, in terms of how making it clear how many spaces are available per department. Also I feel we receive information around our qualifications on a later note sometimes which cause uncertainty around our options.
Online support which I find to be enough.
We have access to people leaders, performance managers and mentors within out teams. I feel this is enough support.
Living in London is expensive and I'm aware other professional services firms pay employees at our level more which does raise questions on whether we are paid appropriately.
We are offered 6 days volunteering outside of work which is very nice.

As one firm there are endless opportunities which is great for someone is looking to find an area in professional services which they want to build a career in. It is also a very diverse firm.
Explore you options in terms of what your end goal is. If you want on the job learning KPMG is a great place, however if you want that further education studying then maybe university is a better option. If your interested in applying you should definitely check out the KPMG careers site and attend the workshops they offer to explore the pathways applicable to you.
