I am specialised in Transfer Pricing and therefore my job involves drafting TP documentation, industry and company analysis's, running benchmarking searches, helping create proposals, attanding and recently i have started assisting in client meetings as well as typing the minutes up.
I have learnt many new skills through various training events, courses and lunchtime sessions from how to use complex databases such as dealscan and bloomberg to how to correctly type up an analysis.
I ove the programme as it involves being part of a team and you are treated no different to graduates, I do not make tea or twidle my thumbs as there is always work i can help with and i am given responsibility to do certain items of work. Everyone on my team is a pleasure to work with and they are very encouraging with a great appraisal system. I did not expect to be allowed to help with so much in my first year nor for everyone to be so supportive and willing to sit down and explain/re-explain tasks whereever necessary.
I feel like I am an importnt part of the team and the appraisel systme is excellent in recognising work I do, how I could improve etc. There is also limelight awards for when you do outstanding work which is really great as it makes you feel very appreciated. I am involved in many tasks from proposal to sign off and help with alot of drafting.
The programme is great as your gain alot of on the job experience as well as going to college to study towards proffesional exams. There is a large amount of support given by team members, industry members and specialised deloitte training officials. There is also plenty of specialied training session to ensure I am up to date with latest news in my sector and to improve/expand my capabilities.
Kaplan is great, they provide an imense amount of support during the college periods as well as answer emails around college to make sure we are never stuck.
