I work within the mergers and acquisiitons tax department as an associate. My job involves working on due diligence reports, structure reports and restructuring services tax projects. I work with a wide variery of people and project teams.
I am currently working towards becoming ACA and CTA qualified and have sat the first 6 exams. I have also been sent on various internal tax courses and learn new things daily on the job.
I am constantly learning as part of my programme and find it enjoyable. Deloitte is an excellent firm to work for and they provide many opportunities to progress and develop.
Most managers often voice their appreciation for good, which makes for a motivational working environment. The department tries hard to get everyone involved in interesting work.
The programme is extremely well structured, with each year's exams and courses planned well in advance. It is also clear what grade I will be at each year as I move through the programme. The buddy system Deloitte has is also very useful.
There are always people there to support me if I have any issues and it is made clear that they want us to voice any problems.
There are always people there to support me if I have any issues and it is made clear that they want us to voice any problems. The firm obviously want us to pass exams, so support us through that.
I live at home, so my salary is adequate for my needs.
There are often company events and activities, and there are a large range of clubs that I could join if I wanted to. Voluntary work within the community is also supported.
Yes
There is plenty of room to progress within Deloitte and they provide excellent training opportunities.
The interview process is hard, but worth it!
