  • It's an engineering maintenance apprenticeship, so it involves working in workshops and classrooms for the first two years, covering the basics of general engineering before receiving specific practical training for different teams at the power station.

  • I've learnt many new practical skills during the course but mainly life skills whilst living away from home

  • I am enjoying the course at the moment and believe it will only get better once I leave the training center and return to the power station

  • I feel very valued and fortunate to be a part of this course.

  • I have never been too stressed working on assessments or essays whilst on the course and that is testament to the organised structure in place

  • There is plenty of qualified personnel willing to help and support you on each and every individual course

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As travel, living and most daily costs are already paid for by my company, my wage is more than enough for me to buy luxury items and afford social costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Due to the course being based on a naval establishment for the first two years, there are plenty of opportunities to use the outstanding sports and leisure facilities and get involved in other activities

  • Yes

  • It is a great experience living away from home for 2 years before holding down a career for life with a respected, reliable company

  • Make the most of your time away from home, as it flies by.
