Currently Packaging Co-coordinator at the Luton plant. Involves ensuring packaging arrives in good condition and liaising with suppliers to solve packaging issues. I also book containers, collect paperwork and maintain spreadsheets so that accurate records are kept.
Learnt more about the warehouse/manufacturing environment. Improved communication and social skills. Computer literacy and ability improved.
I enjoy learning new things about the business and helping to save money and fix problems for the business. My role changes every year so I keep learning year on year.
With the new improvements made to the scheme (e.g. better courses, more options)I feel more valued compared to before. I feel involved with my team and get along with the department.
Well organized in the fact that I know my job role prior to going into it and have time to learn it in advance. However some things are less well organized such as our situation with our training provider
Bedford College was our training provider for these past two years and they have been below my expectations. Teaching has been very poor, organization and structure has been poor and the facilities are average.
Employer has been good at listening to queries and helping us to achieve our aims. The new options they are offering are good and apprentices feel more valued.
Salary is satisfactory considering Vauxhall pay for our learning provider as well.
Many social events and discounts available. From a work perspective I haven't been on an external training course or seen many advertised, only for higher management. Opportunities to volunteer
Yes
