The programme is rotational which means you get to work in the different areas of the business. As a result, your day to day work varies depending on what department you are in.
I have learnt many new skills such as client interaction, presentation skills and improving my confidence. I have also improved my excel skills as well as increasing my accountancy knowledge through my AAT exams.
The programme is a great way to help you find your area of interest, providing many learning opportunities and exposure to different areas of the business. I have really enjoyed my time so far and KPMG is a great company to work for.
At KPMG, everyone is made to feel comfortable and are accepted for who they are. Everyone ensures that you know the importance of your role, even if it may seem insignificant compared to the roles of those higher up in the team.
The programme is well structured and we are well informed on things such as, how long our placements are as well as what exams we are doing. However, as it is a fairly new programme it is not well known among the business, which results in miscommunication. This will only improve as the programme becomes more well known.
We receive course materials and question banks for each of our exams, as well having access to the BPP and AAT website where we can download more practices questions and papers. Our tutors are contactable out of college hours, as well as during the time between college and our exams.
KPMG have a support network we can go to with any problems that we have in relation to our studies. They also provide support to people who are doing resits.
As I still live at home, my salary package sufficiently meets my costs. KPMG also provide loans for things such as travel.
KPMG encourage volunteering in and out of the work place. There is also a wide variety of societies which you can get involved with.

The programme is a great way to gain experience in the work place while also receiving a qualification. If you are unsure as to what you are most interested in then this programme is good as you can have placements in a variety of areas and departments.
Make sure you have an understanding of what KPMG is and do, and what your interests are And your plans for your career. Look at the application process as a learning experience in itself.
