Day to day roles include, reading and understanding design briefs, caring out designs, attending team meetings and self checking design work.
I have learnt various skills through training such as analytical thinking , how to better manage teams, first aid, manual handling, track safety and how to manoeuvre while working on site (railway)
I really enjoy the problem solving and team work aspects of the work I do as well as going out on site and learning new things such as how the designs I produce are interfaced and integrated into the rail network.
Working for Siemens has allowed me to flourish and express myself through the work I produce and the challenges I overcome, I feel very valued and recently won a silver champions award as recognition for a piece of work that I produced.
The Apprenticeship programme in my opinion is well structured in terms of support, training, team hierarchy and the mentor system.
When needed I feel that I have been provided with the best support and guidance to allow me to progress and achieve my goals.
My employer provides me with the best support as their attitude towards apprentices and trainees is very positive.
As an adult in the 20 to 24 age group living in the London area I personally feel that the salary could be a little bit more but I have learnt to budget and there is overtime work available to make extra cash here and there.
there are many volunteering opportunites and company event outside of work and I try and attend as many as I can.
