Original role was to become a signalling designer. This involved reading lots of standards and producing drawings from templates. Not the most interesting or engaging work. But have since moved into a different role after finishing the three years and it is much better.
The company allowed me to study for a HNC & HND which was very good. Many internal training courses, some relevant some not. Overall good skill development.
The programme wasn't very well structured when first started.Enjoyment in the workplace was not there at all and some of the team in the initial department were less than helpful. College was a good experience. Siemens company culture is very safety conscious.
Initially, I was expecting to feel like part of a team but it felt more like a group of individuals working in the same place. Recognition was difficult because work was almost non-existent at first. Since joining the company as a full time member, I feel like I am valued alot more by the new team.
The programme started off with a view to keep up with the apprentices every 10 weeks for reviews. However, this was not kept up with. Lots of training to be had, support for college work was there if needed.
Good support from a training point of view.
Good support from a training point of view.
Very nicely
There are opportunities to do various activities if need be. Although, they dont appeal to all.
Yes
Siemens as a corporate company, is a good company to work for.
Don't go for signalling design. Go for an alternative discipline.
