My role was to become an active member of a team working on wind turbines servicing maintaining and fault finding on them
Yes I have gained greater knowledge of electrical hydraulic and mechanical systems both on and off wind turbines
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Siemens apprenticeship programme as it has given me so many opportunities I otherwise wouldn't have had
Not always as much as I'd like to however I know that I am working as a skilled and useful member of a team and that my knowledge of WTG's is valued by my team
The scheme is not always as organised as it probably should be however we are a new industry and a new programme and it has got better year on year due to good management being implemented
A lot during college but not as frequent during time at site this is good as it lets you become better at working through issues on your own however sometime it would be appreciated if help was a little bit faster
Management and admin staff are always happy to help and will always get an answer for any question or get you any equipment messary for a job
Better than most if not all apprenticeships however first and second year can be a struggle when living away from home on basic wage
Yes, socials, charity events, other extra opportunities if you are willing
Yes
Good working atmosphere, Helpful colleagues, great opportunities and you are compensated very well
Always make sure your work is completed on time and you are enthusiastic and willing to work
