I undertook a one week work placement at Barclays. As this work experience dealt with people personal finance there was not much finance invloved. I was made to do data entry which I really enjoyed. I had to be very careful with this as one mistake can change all my data. Therefore my main task was data entry and looking at paper work.
I learnt how to throughly check work for any mistakes and I learnt how to use Microsoft Excel and specialist software. I was also advised that if I wanted to further my knowledge on the Microsoft package I should go on a course.
I really enjoyed my work experience, but the week went so fast. If I was a graduate I would of been given more tasks. I learnt the importance of confidentiality. The company were really friendly and helpful which I knew when I have visted them in the past. The team are warm and guide you every step of the way.
I felt very valued and was praised by various team members as well as the managers and was asked whether I would like to undertake another work experience in the future. I was really involved in tbe tasks and was able to voice any problems and issues.
The programme was very orgainsised. Prior to the work expeirence I was invoited to an induction day where they explained what was expected of me and how to deal with confidentiality of the clients. I also met the team who made me feel very welcome. At no point was I sitting there bored and I was always busy with a task or talking to a client. I was really impressed by the level of organisation of the team.
This is not applicable as it was a one week work expeirence. When I was stuck they fully supported me. I was really happy and felt comfortable working with them.I am confident that if I were to work with them in the furture they would provide me with the full support.
This is not applicable.
Na, it wss a one week upaid work experience.
Yes I now from this work expeience learnt many skills and can now have the confidence to apply for moe work experience in this field.
Yes
They were very friendly and were willing to guide you through the whole week. They explained tasks in details and explained its relevance.
I would advise to fully research before applying so you know what is expected from you and how to complete the online application. There may be an assessment day if the firm is in the magic circle.
