At the current moment I am training at a tutoring centre, as of now the quality of tutoring has been exceptional, with helpful tutors and informative units; help is provided when needed at a brilliant standard. Regarding college work the work load has been demanding, but manageable with lots to learn.
So far I have developed skills in calculation electronics related values, identifying faults in electronics, hand fitting components and producing hardware, Computer aided design. And a good induction to learning to solder at an advanced level.
The programme has been engaging and demanding, the work provided is interesting and once you find your mindset for engineering, learning is a breeze and a joy for such a diverse subject.
I feel like the apprentices at BAE Systems are treated with incredible amounts of respect and the entire profile of the company shares an impression that the apprentices are the future of the company, this is very encouraging, and the support provided to us as apprentices is exceptional.
There has been no planning issues or problems with the programme whatsoever, the learning phase so far has operated like a well oiled machine. It has been brilliantly created so that all the documentation and paperwork is planned to assist you in every way possible on your learning path.
Our training provider has given an incredible quality of service, with responsive and knowledgeable tutors and ample equipment and materials to complete assessments. I believe the support provided is brilliant, and that it really assist with learning as an apprentice.
Our employer is always within close contact, with regular visits and an "always happy to help", its more than you could ever ask for from a employer.
Currently as a 16 year old living with his parents the salary provided is ample for my costs, however, when I do eventually considering "flying the nest" planned pay rises and assistance from the company themselves are there to fall back on for support all the way.
Outside of work the opportunities provided are excellent, with events on certain days and team-building excursions for apprentices we receive a varied and exciting range of activities and opportunity.
Yes
An incredible company with supportive members of staff, a very fair system of treatment for apprentices and a brilliant learning scheme is all an apprentice could ask for.
Be yourself, you are the future of BAE Systems, and you need to show that you are the ideal candidate to carry a legacy. Be confident, work hard, and if you don't get in first time; keep going; perseverance is key for proving your abilities for entering this company.
