I currently work as a resourcer in the Tech Team. My typical day is sourcing for candidates through LinkedIn and Ad responses. Then qualifying these candidates and getting them ready to send over to the client and arranging interviews.
Throughout my time at BPS the main skill that I have improved would be my communication skills. I am regularly in contact with candidates from all around the world and I have been able to develop effective working relationships with these people.
The best thing about BPS is the people that I work with. Working in a sales environment you can have a quieter days and busier days but my colleagues are always there to help out if needed.
When you are getting results you will receive a lot of praise - whether that is publicly or privately will depend on who your manager is. However, as it is sales, if you aren't getting the results you don't receive much praise.
It is very well organised, there is a clear structure on how to achieve the targets to complete your apprenticeship. Once you complete your apprenticeship for the following couple of years there is also a clear structure on how to get further pay rises/promotion.
I received all of the support I needed to complete the course. There wasn't any problems with getting hold of my tutor or rearranging sessions if needed.
I received all of the support I needed from my employer to complete the course. You are allowed time during working hours to complete units of the course and if there is any other training available to you, you are encouraged to take it.
I live quite far away from the office and until I started I didn't fully realise how much it would cost to travel to daily. I also started with one of my friends who is from the same area as me, however, he has since moved on from BPS which has increased my travel costs much more.
There are usually quarterly company events which are good fun, however it would be better if these were more regular. We do have a weekly 5-a-side football game which is good though.
Yes
I would recommend BPS to a friend as the office atmosphere is very friendly and there is lots of support and training available to help you start your career in recruitment.
My advice for applying to BPS would be to write your application to include examples of where you have shown the company values and if you are successful in getting an interview make sure you come across as someone who is personable and willing to learn, and you will probably get the job.
