my daily routine has varied over the last 3 years from spending a year in HMS sultan in Portsmouth to going out on track on a night shift completing a quad tamp. I often meet different departments at Watford depot and learn about what they do. I often speak with the TME at Watford and the ATME I have spent most of my time this last year in the technical office where I have been reviewing track quality. my responsibilities include filing away important documents. checking technical records, completing surveys.
I have completed a lot of different qualifications from a level 3 btec, level 3 nvq and a level 3 leadership management course. I have also completed loads of role specific training courses during the scheme which will really help during my first few years after the scheme. we have also been given the chance to complete other training course at out mangers discretion. however the chance to further my education as so far been made imposable but support is there if I wish to further it after the scheme. I have learnt so many personal skills during the course from living in shared accommodation away from home to having to organise a group activity for my class. professional skills that I have learnt have really helped allow me to fit in at my depot
work is always varied and fun. the teams I have worked in have always shared network rails beliefs. company culture has been drilled into me since day one and I feel like I really understand and share network rails goals now. it blow my expectations out of the water. I have very much enjoyed it
I have always felt very valued by network rail because of how much they have invested into me. my mangers have always known about the scheme and know how to support me and how to help me achieve my goals
everything has always been planned very well
during the modules we are always well supported however outside of that a our depots we don't receive much if any support from them.
they always help me to achieve my goals and help me to set new ones often sparing time in their busy schedules to help me
yes however I am currently living at home with my parents if I was to move out I would struggle to pay for everything
I have never seen any opportunities outside of work
Yes
one of the best schemes out there and trains you to become the best you can be
take your time during the application stage and make sure you can show as much depth and character about yourself and your willingness to succeed and learn
