Work within the customer field environment carrying out tasks as directed by the Service Delivery Manager to satisfy the customer/client and business requirements. Comply with the Capgemini codes of conduct and guidelines. Understand, comply and develop with customer and Capgemini procedures, working practices and directives in a timely manner. Fully understand the service Capgemini has been engaged to deliver in line with contractual and other customer expectations. Maintain and update all quality documentation issued to her by the company. Attend team meetings and agreed training courses. Work closely with the Service Delivery Managers, Service Desk, Consultants and wider Capgemini team to coordinate statistical data, analysis and to drive improvements in reporting. Work innovatively and identify further business efficiencies / improved ways of working within Service Delivery.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills in project management and have undertaken new challenges in order to move forward with my career. I have improved both my personal skills such as confidence and other skills such as using a variety of softwares. At the end of my degree I plan to think about moving forward to leading a team and taking part in bigger projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programme and I get some support when necessary, but I also have to work on my own - which I enjoy. It is not expected for me to know everything on the project straight away. I would say that anyone thinking of applying to Capgemini does need a good head on their shoulders. They must be able to communicate and explain issues that they are facing.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • I do feel very valued by Capgemini as a whole, the work I complete is required for the projects and the SDM I work with depends on it. We have a service called "Applaud" too, which allows individuals to commend others on their work. I have been commended on this and it gives you a sense of how valuable you are to both the company and your team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very structured, with set milestone dates for work to be completed and exams to be finished. I can review online when my work must be completed by, and the percentage of which I have finished my course. I have review meetings every month in order to check progress on the course.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a lot of support from my training provider, and I can contact them if I have any issues - not only with the work but with Capgemini. This helps as I am able to contact them if I am struggling with my work and they will do what they can to support me. For example, if an individual struggles with exams, they will try and place them into another room to sit it separately.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • This varies. If I am completing work and need assistance, SDM's are the first to jump in and help. If I need to raise an issue, it is sometimes difficult to get it sorted. I think all in all, the company is quite supportive, but more so if you need assistance with a document or piece of work.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It is reasonable, it allows me to live comfortably but I must be sensible. All costs for travel are reimbursed and this helps me as I do not have to fork out the costs myself. I do struggle sometimes, but that may be because I am a very independent person and I do not live with my parents. For an average apprentice living with their parents, the salary is more than reasonable.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, I have been to several volunteering opportunities, including career shows to promote Capgemini and "The Brathay Challenge". The Brathay Challenge offered more opportunities, such as volunteering to create an allotment at a local shelter, and speaking on the radio to promote Capgemini.

  • 9. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Capgemini are a fantastic company, especially for apprenticeships. They fully support their apprentices and graduates, with provided training courses available for them to further their career. I believe that my best option was to work for Capgemini as it really gave me an experience in the real world. I now work alongside the SDM, providing information and data spread sheets that will be used daily to ensure the smooth continuation of the project.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • I would advise that you do your research about Capgemini, but in your interview don't tell the employer too much about their own company. I would also advise that you use all the support available when in the company and make use of the courses available.
