I currently work in Corporate Banking, my day to day tasks involve researching potential companies, looking at the companies financials, debt pricing models and also keeping in regular contact with the companies management teams and RBS Legal teams. I work in a small team but interact with many different people across the bank, i also communicate regularly with external lawyers, auditors and companies.
I am currently working towards an ICT qualification, Level 3 Business and Administration and Chartered Banker. I attend training courses internally such as customer service training. Working in an office has also taught me lots of communication and social skills.
I enjoy working with other apprentices and also people across RBS on a daily basis. Coming from college I didn’t know what to expect from the programme but i have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
RBS show appreciation to us as apprentices and are always very keen to receive feedback.
To begin with the programme was a little confusing due to us being the first apprentices, therefore it was understandable. Now the programme is more established it is very well organised.
My assessor comes in regularly to support me and is always willing to put extra work in to ensure I am happy and comfortable.
I have been provided with a buddy who i work with and talk to with any issues, my Manager is also very supportive and assists me with any queries or issues.
The salary covers all my costs and is very good compared with other apprenticeships.
I attend many different company events and have the opportunity to volunteer in the local community.
Yes
RBS are very supportive to all employees and appreciate each and every employee.
Ensure you research RBS and know the apprenticeship prior to the application process, it also helps to have some knowledge on RBS's history. I would like to have been told more about the apprenticeship before i started so ensure you ask as many questions about it as possible,
