  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a customer service advisor for Lloyds banking group. I have been situated in Cardiff gate, Newport Tredeager park and also Cardiff St William house. My role involves dealing with customers problems and concerns and helping them with their queries with their bank accounts or savings account and complaints.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my time at Lloyds banking group I have learnt many new skills. I have learnt how to improve my existing customer service skills and how to provide the best service for them. I have also learnt how to deal with difficult customers in a professional manner. I have also gained a good understanding of the banking world.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed this apprenticeship programme. My assessor has been very helpful in achieving my goals. I have also found that the work I have been doing in the programme helps contribute to my skills within my day to day job role at Lloyds banking group. I would highly recommend the programme.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Lloyds Banking Group?
  • I feel extremely valued by Lloyds banking group. I feel that I am a big contribution to my team and to the business. We all help to tackle high call volumes and aim to help our customers the best we can. Lloyds banking group is very welcoming and supportive f all its colleagues.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship programme was very well structured and everything seemed to flow correctly. All meetings that were held with my assessor were organised in a professional manner. The meetings fitted in with my work schedule without causing any problems or distracting me from my job which I thought could be difficult.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I felt that my trainer or assessor was always really happy to help me if I was stuck with any questions on the work sheets or booklets. If I was struggling at home I would email or text my assessor and ask for help as she had an open door policy.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel that my salary does meet my costs of spending each month however it would be nice if it would be increased slightly. Hopefully following on from this apprenticeship I can increase this by progressing through Lloyds banking group. This would help me to live a more comfortable life.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Outside of working at Lloyds banking group there are many of opportunities. We often get asked if we would like to attend road shows where we can meet the big bosses of Lloyds banking group and it gives a chance to share new ideas with them and to get recognised.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Lloyds banking group to my friends as a great place to work because I enjoy my job. Each day I am tackling different queries and problems and I feel it would be a good way of them learning useful new skills or developing on their current ones.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
  • My tips for others looking to apply for a career within Lloyds banking group would be to stay focused on your career path. I would also suggest remaining positive as this reflects on customers and makes them happier. It would also be a good idea to do some research on Lloyds before applying to see if it’s the right thing for you.
