I am currently working in Quality Management, helping out with Quality Specialist roles and supporting/ learning the problem solving process
Yes I have learnt skills ranging from software like excel learning to write basic macros. As well as the DMAIC problem solving process
I really enjoy my role as it has enabled me to learn new key skills like problems solving and working better as a team, as well as learning about the company and how it differs so much to others.
I feel very valued as a memeber of my department and as a copany as a whole. This is due to the openess of the collegues and how supportive they are.
My apprenticeship is very well structured and organised. The first year was full time at college, this enabeled me to learn the basic keys skills prior to the application of them in the workplace and now that i am working towards a HNC i feel the progression is at the correct level and ties in with work.
I feel that the training provider provided a good method of learning by putting us straight in on the line and starting to learn how the car is built. As i have progressed different forms of training have taken place, like ST wrench training and PQM rasing and i feel like this has really helped me and openend up new projects.
My employer is very supportive, and ensures im constantly being pushed and have satusfactory work load. I also feel like the HR deparetment help allot with special projects like the Green Goblin electric car project, this helps me create a good bond with other apprentices and learn team building skills.
The salary i recieve far exceeds my outgoings and I would never complain about this aspect. Infact aspect like the car scheme save me allot of money i would be spending on my insurance and opens up the ability to drive a new car.
The department I am working in have many events throughout the year that get the workers all together in a less formal way, for example we have been go-carting at christmas, I feel this really helped me to get the know the team more. There are also other voluntary activities like helpping the primary shcool with the Green Roblin activity.
Yes
It is a brilliant company to work for and very supportive especially through a apprenticship level. The quality department especially provides an amazing experience to learn the problem solving process in a company that strives for perfection so much.
It is importnant to prepare for the application process, by for example reading inot the company, as there is allot to learn about how it has progressed into the way we see it now. Also confirdence and team working skills are key as you might have a good enigineering knowlege but unless you can work easily with other, you cant properly apply this.
