I was a work experience student At L3 TRL. We worked on coding on Python, constructing circuitry with the Raspberry Pi. We met many people from each department, asking about how life at the company was for them, and how their day is normally. We worked on a market research project about a target country, this was really interesting and taught me a lot about geopolitics and general world affairs.
I have learned how to code using a language called python, the people assisting us gave very good help and we worked through everything they had for us to do. I also learned how to present work in a formal company along with presenting in a team, and working cohesively with other people.
I enjoyed it very much, I learned so much from the programme and it has stuck with me ever since. The company surpassed my expectations, with levels of friendliness. The company as a whole was quite formal but also laid back at the same time, this made it very welcoming and not daunting.
They always were interested in what we were doing, giving us words of encouragement when we were stuck and helping us along in a manner that allowed us to do the work but giving subtle hints. This showed that they truly did value us while we were there.
It was very well structured, from smooth introductions with fellow students and employees, to the group and individual tasks that we were interesting and fun, the team we worked with had everything well planned out and even if it went wrong, they had backup plans
Yes
Because it really helped with learning about life after school, how work and employment really is.
Go in with an open mind.
