  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role at Glaxo Smith Kline was as an IT Network Analyst within the IT department. On a day to day basis, I was responsible for assisting project managers across a number of small to medium projects. I would liaise with project teams to draft time plans, business proposals, corporate finance records and communicating with senior managers and other team members.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I was very fortunate to be living back with my parents during my placement year and therefore I was able to live comfortably on my placement salary. Apart from my commute into work I didnt have any travel costs as i used the internal bus service to travel between sites. This was great as commuting in london is timely and expensive.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend an apprenticeship with Glaxo Smith Kline UK as it offers so much more than a paid job. It was an opportunity to see how large multinational organisations operate and what you will expect in life after university. They offer so many different roles and jobs in many different departments and this provides a varied programme.
