Work Experience Review

I shadowed a member of the Tax team for the most part with daily virtual learning sessions and completed work given to me by the team. I also presented on a topic of my choice (the controversies surrounding VAT)

Developed presenting skills, business writing skills and excel skills. This was through interactive courses and through my presentation.

Really enjoyed it, my team were really welcoming and I learned a lot.

Due to the complicated nature of their work, there is not too much value I could add but I feel they tried to challenge me and give me work.

Reasonably so, lots of time spent with our 'Buddy' so our time was often dependent on how proactive they were, luckily mine were.

A good amount, I felt like I could email them if I had any queries.

Lots, I felt like they wanted me to succeed. As I was only here 5 days, I had limited access to senior people and had little need for support.

Living an hour and a half away made my commute expensive (£22 a day). Unsure if costs reimbursed but assuming not then not well at all.

Went to lunches with the team but (due to anti-slavery laws and time constraints) could not participate much outside of 9:30-4:30

Everyone I met was friendly and had a similar work ethic to me, it was not what I expected from such a massive company but I know my friends would love it as much as me.
