Over the week I have spent time in the office as well as on a client site. I have worked on the team project, attended virtual learning sessions , captured invoices and did revenue testing
I have gained and enhanced many employability skills that I will be able to use in the future. I have gained networking and communication skills from interacting with colleagues and clients and working on the team project.
I enjoyed my programme a lot as there was a lot to do and the employees were very nice. My team members were easy to get along with and we worked well together on the team project.
I feel very valued. They made me feel very welcome and inclusive as I could easily ask questions, seek guidance and advice.
The programme was well organized with planned virtual learning sessions and set lunch times. With our free time we were either working on the team project or out on a client site.
My buddy was very kind and useful to ask questions and seek guidance.
I received a lot of support from my counseller. We had a meeting on the first day to discuss targets and goals which was very useful to see how I could improve myself for the week. I also had a lot fo support from my buddy who regularly messaged me and spoke to me to see if I was okay. They were both there for me to ask questions which was very useful
I was paid for a weeks work experience which probably didn't cover my accommodation.
There are many opportunities outside of work. EY and their employees get involved in a lot of charity work which is good ethos for a company as business is more than about making profit. They also have sporting events.
Yes
EY has many opportunities to move between services which is good as you can get a good overview of each service and see which one you are best suited to. The staff at EY are all very friendly and make new people feel very welcome by asking questions and making conversations. EY also has very good values e.g. helping the environment which is key for a business.
When applying to EY make sure you research the company thoroughly. This can be through reading the website, social media, current news articles and books. If you have to complete an interview make sure you stay calm and have a glass of water nearby. Also prepare some questions to ask at the end. Whilst at EY use the opportunity to ask as many questions as you want as no question is a silly question.
